I was over the moon when I found out I was pregnant, and immediately rushed to tell my boyfriend the news. But his negative reaction knocked me off my feet. Not only did he not want the baby, but he also kicked me out of his house onto the street.
Thanks to kind strangers, I found a place to live and worked part-time as a food delivery person during my pregnancy. Then, a few months later, my ex showed up and asked me to come back. I was shocked to find out the reason for his unexpected return.
It turned out that after I left, his life fell apart faster than he ever imagined. His friends distanced themselves, claiming they “didn’t want to get involved in drama.” His new girlfriend dumped him after just a few weeks, and word about how he’d kicked out his pregnant partner spread through his workplace — costing him a promotion.
But the real reason he was there, crawling on his knees in front of my tiny apartment, was that his parents had found out. They were furious and told him that unless he made things right with me and took responsibility for his child, they’d cut him off financially.
Through tears, he promised he’d “be better,” swearing that we could be a family. I looked at his desperate face and realized… he didn’t want me or even the baby. He just wanted to save himself.
So I closed the door, leaving him kneeling in the hallway — and for the first time in months, I felt truly strong.
