I am a stay-at-home parent taking care of our autistic daughter. Yesterday, while I was doing household stuff, I noticed that he had left his monitor on before heading to work. I went to shut it off, and here is where MY HEART BREAKS! My eyes welled with tears as I was looking at a photo of me cooking with the caption, “My wife cooks another trash. Familiar with that?” As I looked through, I found more messages where he mocked me. IT WAS DISGUSTING! But a brilliant plan immediately appeared in my head, and I knew how to teach him a lesson he’ll never forget. So I
…I screenshotted every single message. Every insult, every photo, every “joke” at my expense. Then I created a group chat with him, his friends, and — just for good measure — his mother.
I dropped all the screenshots in at once with the caption:
“Since you all enjoy laughing at me so much, let’s make it a family event. Here’s the material you missed.”
The chat went dead silent. One of his buddies even left the group instantly. His mother’s only reply?
“I didn’t raise you to treat your wife like this.”
When he came home that night, red-faced and stammering, I didn’t yell. I just handed him an apron and said:
“Dinner’s on you now, chef. Let’s see if your food is any better than my ‘trash.’”
He hasn’t joked since. And guess who’s been cooking and cleaning without a single complaint?
Lesson learned. ✅
