Trump: ‘Major Combat Operations’ Underway to ‘Obliterate’ Iranian Missile Factories

U.S. President Donald Trump announced “major combat operations” against Iran, saying joint U.S.–Israeli strikes aim to destroy Iran’s missiles and stop its nuclear program. He warned Iranian forces to surrender for “complete immunity” or face “certain death,” and called on citizens to overthrow their government.

The campaign, called “Operation Epic Fury,” hit military and nuclear sites across Iran, including Tehran. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strikes were meant to eliminate an “existential threat.”

Iran responded with ballistic missiles and drones targeting Israel and U.S. bases in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, and Jordan. Air defenses intercepted many, but casualties and damage occurred on both sides.

Explosions have been reported across Iran, with hundreds killed or injured. Regional flights were widely canceled, and multiple countries closed their airspace.

Critics warn the offensive could spark a broader regional war, increase civilian casualties, and deepen long-term instability.
